Lets talk about flying tandems with Wild Sky Paragliding in Boulder, Colorado. If your question isn’t here, email us with your question — we’ll add it.

Your safety is considered at every stage. Our pilots are USHPA-certified with up to 20 years of experience and thousands of flights. We fly brand-new Niviuk equipment with a reserve parachute on every flight. We take a conservative approach to weather — if the weather won’t allow us to fly, we reschedule at no charge. This is a great opportunity to face your fears and discover what it feels like to fly with experienced pilots above one of the most beautiful places in Colorado.
Most flights are a smooth 3–5 minute glide back to the park — peaceful, scenic, and beautiful. On days when thermals are active, rising air can carry you above 10,000 feet and flights can last 20–30 minutes. Either way, the full experience — meet, hike, fly, land, celebrate — is about 60-90 min long and gives you the chance to get some nature and sky time above this BEAUTIFUL part of the world!
Closed-toe shoes — hiking shoes, sneakers, or boots. No sandals. Comfortable clothes you’d wear on a short hike. Bring a layer since it can be cooler at altitude. We provide everything else — harness, helmet, and all flight equipment. Water, sunscreen, and sunglasses optional extras that can be nice to have.
None at all. Our pilots guide every step — experienced, patient, and fun. You just need to run 10–20 feet on a hillside for launch. We fly a minimum age of 18 (16+ with prior arrangement) to 75+.
If the weather won’t allow us to fly, we reschedule at no charge. We’d rather get you up on a great day than push it on a marginal one.
505 Locust Ave, Boulder, CO 80304, right next to Foothills Community Park and Wonderland Lake. From there, it’s a short drive and a scenic 15-minute hike to the launch site. The views on the way up are worth the trip alone. 505 Locust Ave, Boulder, CO 80304
We launch from the Boulder foothills, approximately 10 minutes from downtown Boulder. The exact launch site varies by wind direction on the day of your flight — your pilot picks the site that gives the best flight. You’ll get a confirmation email three days before the flight, and your pilot will contact you the day before with exact details and to confirm weather conditions. We usually land in the beautiful Foothills Community Park on the southern side next to a row of small pine trees where spectators can sit and celebrate the landing.
Absolutely — they are very welcome! Friends and family can enjoy Foothills Community Park while you fly. The park is beautiful, with some evergreen trees for shade and lots of activities to do while you wait, such as frisbee, or playing with the dog if you have one. On landing, you can even high five your family member! Watching someone land and running out to meet them is half the fun.
$335 per person. Video and photo packages start at $35 (can be purchased on the day). Groups of 6+ save $300 off the total, so if you organise a group of 5, you fly for free! Gift certificates are also available.
260lb is the hard limit. But we will always calculate the takeoff weight based on wing loading, windspeed/ground speed at takeoff, thermic conditions, landing dynamics and etc.
Wind conditions, harness weight limits, wing maximum takeoff weight, and other limitations can play a factor. Be accurate/round up with your total clothed weight when booking.
We will fly passengers 18 years and older due to insurance limitations. Call us if you want to fly and are younger as we can sometimes work with another instructor who has insurance for youth. There’s no upper age limit — if you’re medically cleared and within the weight range, you can fly.
Most people don’t. Tandem paragliding feels nothing like a roller coaster — the wing glides smoothly, with gradual turns and very little vertical acceleration. The motion is more like a gentle sailboat than anything aggressive. That said, if you’re someone who gets carsick on winding roads, take a non-drowsy motion-sickness medication (Bonine, Dramamine Less Drowsy) about an hour before your flight as insurance. Eat a light meal beforehand — empty stomachs make people queasier, not less so. We’ve had passengers who normally get carsick fly with us and feel completely fine. Keeping your eyes on the horizon and paying attention while flying helps.
You’re welcome to bring a GoPro or phone. We have high-quality cameras that you can purchase or our edited video package. Our filming captures both of you with the Flatirons, the Front Range, and Boulder spread out below — angles you simply can’t get from a handheld phone. The package includes raw photos, raw video clips, while our edited package includes a 60-second edited highlight reel delivered within 48 hours of your flight.
